Faithful!

Not me, my Creator

My Saviour and Redeemer,

Sure to let me fly

And keep me safe,

Always reminding me

That Home is not here or there.

Home is where He is,

And where I will go when my flight is done.

Faithful!

Never me because I fail.

But surer than the sun at dawn,

He always is my light and life.

He knows me fully yet loves me thorough.

He tickles my heart and makes me laugh.

He gives me music even in the night.

He leads my tired feet to shuffle,

And my waist and back to sway in the dance I love.

I want to be

To the One who always is,

Who fills my heart with joy,

And my lips with song,

Who gives me lines to write

And consumes my thoughts with stories and wonders.

I want to pour it all out,

To be empty and spent

MY FAITH WAS SHAKEN

WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS!

Moody believed to be the most touching modern hymn that he had ever heard. The hymn "What a Friend we have in Jesus" was written by Joseph Scriven (1819-1886). He sent the words to his mother sometime around 1855, when she was ill. The song was composed by Charles Converse in 1868. These comforting lines were written by someone who had known a lot of pain and sorrow. A portrait of Joseph Scriven Joseph Scriven was born in Dublin, Ireland. He first attended Addiscombe Military College in England, but withdrew on health grounds, after 2 years. He went on to continue his studies in Trinity College, Dublin, where he graduated in 1942.
